Coatings obtained through photopolymerisation of epoxy resins are described. The influence of alcohols and of functionalised polybutadiene on the cationic mechanism of the curing process is discussed. The final properties of the coatings are evaluated and correlated with the structures of the additives. A strong increase on curing rate and final epoxy conversion is achieved together with an improvement on impact resistance. Copyright OCCA 2005.
