The existence of Bloch oscillations in photonic crystals, Bragg mirrors, is investigated. Results show that photonic oscillations in such mirrors are similar to those of electrons in semiconductor superlattices. In particular, Bloch oscillations of light within a photonic miniband of a porous silicon Bragg mirror was modeled by a scattering-state stimulation scheme.

Abstract
