This paper presents the first studies in order to verify the feasibility of a very small size demonstrator of re- entry vehicles technology. The basis of the study is Mini-SRT, a small demonstrator drawn to be 1:5 scaled with regard to CIRA USV vehicle. The Mini-SRT has been studied by the Authors and its characteristics seem to be very interesting. However the Mini-SRT estimated cost is not very low and this fact drove us to study a demonstrator with a little smaller t than the Mini-SRT one, a bit lower performances but with a greatly reduced cost. The most interesting ideas considered to reduce cost are the expensive Reaction Control System substitution with cheaper devices, the adoption of very low cost “amateurs” rockets as booster and a new simplified shape and structural layout.
