In this paper I want to present some considerations about the role of World Wide Web for transmitting the idea of “venustas”, related to the architectural design. For this purpose, it is necessary to know and understand the peculiarities of this new medium both from technical and sociological point of view. Starting from this knowledge it is possible to analyze, using tools offered by the discipline of representation, some case studies consisting in architectural designs posted in the Web sites of contemporary top architects. Aim of the research is to underline the surplus value offered by Web compared with other established media, in the communication of architectural “venustas”.

Abstract
