This study describes both experimental and system modelling activities carried out on a Siemens 5kW SOFC unit. The experiments' results with ethanol fuel feeding the generator are reported. A general energy model tool for the SOFC generator (stack+BoP) was also developed to predict system performances when fuels other than natural gas are used.
