Spectral analysis of the noise of the light scattered by a planar nematic l.c. has been performed in proximity of the electrically induced Freedericksz transition. A well-defined peak of the low-frequency spectral density has been observed near the critical field. These results indicate that noise techniques may provide a deeper understanding of the nature of this transition.

Abstract
Spectral analysis of the noise of the light scattered by a planar nematic l.c. has been performed in proximity of the electrically induced Freedericksz transition. A well-defined peak of the low-frequency spectral density has been observed near the critical field. These results indicate that noise techniques may provide a deeper understanding of the nature of this transition.Pubblicazioni consigliate
