Contributi della scienza dell'Ingegneria rilevati nel disegno degli ammazzatoi italiani dell'Ottocento: i casi di Torino e Roma

The study presented is a research on the engineering of the places intended for matting in Italy, in the XIX century, that detect profitable tensions have arisen between valences engineering (structural, infrastructure, sanitation, planting) and architectural results (compositional, stylistic), revealed by the drawings of the project and construction of the plants. Subject of this study are the first case of the old slaughterhouse in Turin, built from scratch (1864-1867) designed by the Engineer Antonio De Bernardi and Rome. Gioacchino Ersoch, appointed in 1866 aspiring engineer of the Municipality of Rome in 1869 and became Architect first class in the Office aedileship and public works. The analysis was performed on some study designs, the final plans and achievements.
