This live demonstration is centered around a field programmable gate array (FPGA) based image processing system, or smart camera, monitoring in real-time cell biomarkers. The system relies on the ability to monitor in-vitro different cell reactions via exogenous fluorescent markers, and extract quantitative metrics related to the monitored phenomenon. For the purpose of the live demonstration, the system is applied to the quantification of toll-like surface receptor 2 (TLR2), an inflammatory biomarker and to the quantification of the uptake of RubyPy-labeled silica nanoparticules.
